Donna the turtle rescuer’s exciting visit

Eggs photo Turtle photo

On Monday the 15th of August 2016 we were so lucky to have Donna come in to teach us all more about turtles and share a few of her special turtles with us. We saw a turtle skeleton, eggs, X-rays and even got to pat the shells of some quick moving turtles. Donna taught us about how to care properly for turtles and make sure they grow up to be healthy adults. She works with the SPCA and takes turtles who have been found in the waterways or in red zone Christchurch houses. She nurses them back to health and looks after them. What a great learning experience. Thank you to Jo Knowles for organising this special afternoon!
